At Skin NV, we have found that more often than not if a patient attends the clinic with one concern, there are usually several causes that contribute to that concern and, as a result, a combination therapeutic treatment plan is devised.
Aquagold ® fine touch is an FDA-approved and CE-marked micro-infusion & microchannelling device that allows me to do just that, all in one sitting! I am able to tailor each treatment session to create a multi-approach skin rejuvenation treatment plan, all while improving skin health for longer lasting, natural results.
The device consists of the chamber and the needles. When the needles are used to bring about micro-injury to the skin, stimulatory factors within our amazing bodies are triggered to repair the wounds. As a result there is increased blood flow, and increased delivery of oxygen and nutrients to encourage the deposition of good quality skin cells, i.e. healthy, glowing and clear skin.
In addition to this mechanism, the needles also deposit the active ingredients that are contained within the chamber, delivering them into the deeper layers of the skin (the dermis) where they can be used to bring about further skin improvements. The mechanism of these ingredients is dependent on the bespoke concoction that is present in the chamber.
Microneedling creates channels and the active products are then applied after this process, allowing for the products to travel down into the channels deeper into the tissues.
The micro-infusion component of the Aquagold fine touch device works in a way that delivers the active ingredients directly into the deeper tissues of the dermis so you have an efficient and effective delivery system of those all-important active ingredients.
The Aquagold has 20 needles of 24 Carat gold-plated micro-injections. These are thinner than human hair and penetrate at a predictable depth, bringing about less discomfort to patients, less trauma to the tissues and therefore less risk of unwanted side effects like scarring and hyperpigmentation.
Other microneedling devices have on average 10-12 needles so as a result, Aquagold can bring about more stimulation of skin improvements within the treated area and as a result, will be more efficacious.
To be clear though, this treatment does not replace injectable anti-wrinkle treatments in those that have extensive volume loss or deep or heavy lines, but works very nicely at the start of every skin journey. It’s a very nice, conservative way to kick-start the skin so it knows that you are taking control!
