We caught up with Dr Bryony, the Clinical Director of Ametrine Aesthetics, to find what she is doing to help get her aesthetics business through COVID-19.
First of all, could you let us know a little about you and your clinic?
I am practicing dentist working in Newcastle and County Durham. As a dentist I feel I have a unique perspective on facial analysis, beauty and client comfort.
Ametrine Aesthetics provides a new energy to skin in the North East. We are focused on making our clients feel like the best versions of themselves, both physically and mentally.
We are very focused on natural and fresh results, balanced by our holistic outlook and ethos.
How are you keeping yourself on an even keel during these weird times?
Right now lockdown is a little worrying. But, I have faith that once this is over, the world will be a much more united place.
I’ve also started yoga! Yoga by Adrienne in the mornings settles me and sets me up for the day.
How are you trying to protect your business? To get it in great shape when lockdown is lifted?
I’m focused on the rebrand of Ametrine Aesthetics! Making our website, booking system and social media flow together. I have also been taking advantage of the great selection of educational webinars by all of the industry experts.
You're website is BEAUTIFUL!! So, it seems like a great use of time!
Overall, how are you feeling about the future? Of your business? Of the aesthetics industry?
"I think that ‘once this is all over’, people will be motivated to treat themselves."
I have seen so many posts about skincare and home makeovers, so I am expecting there will be some pent-up demand.
Do you have any 'Top Tips' you would like to share with other practitioners?
- Stay positive!
- This too shall pass.
- Watch the Tiger King!
What are you most looking forward to when this is all over? And what positives can you see arising from the current situation?
I am really looking forward to seeing my family. My mum’s very isolated on her own, so I’m going to treat her to a spa day. Also, I will be moving to a new bespoke clinic in May, so I can’t wait to decorate the space! The one positive is the environmental impact of COVID-19. With less travel and less pollution we are seeing animals take over cities!
Now is the perfect time for use to sort out our at-home skincare. What is your own skin care routine?
At the moment I use The Ordinary skincare brand.
- Cleanse: Squalane Cleanser or Charcoal Cleanse
- Tone: Glycolic Acid Toner
- Serum: ‘Buffet’ Serum
- Moisturise: Hyaluronic Acid Hydration
- SPF: Mineral Factor 30
At the moment I’m in discussions with some skincare brands. I hope, once brand ambassadors are back, to start providing Medik8 skin care to my clients.
If you could only recommend one skincare product, what would it be and why? Is there anything else you would like to add?
The Buffet Serum from The Ordinary. It is an amazing anti-aging serum, containing peptides and Hyaluronic acid. It give a real shot of hydration and it's really affordable.
