Survey your colleagues' opinions with a poll on Ning!

Ning is the internet's most popular website for creating your own private social network amongst your friends or work colleagues. Social networks are great tools for keeping track of each other's activity as well as to share information amongst people in your group.

Ning is useful as an interface for project management, and with GlowDay you can run surveys and online polls amongst your work colleagues to decide on an image or the best tagline to use for an ad campaign.

Create a free online poll for Ning

• To start creating your free online poll, click on 'Start' at the top of the screen.
• The survey widget editor screen is where all the magic happens with lots of options for customsing your survey widget.
• First choose a box size for your online poll which will be big enough to fit in your images.
• Now you'll need to add a question, so drag and drop the 'ListBox' button onto your survey widget. In the properties box you can type in your question, add the possible answers as well as edit the font size and style.
• Adding images to your free poll is quick and easy - simply drag and drop an 'Image' box for each one and then in the properties box you can either paste the image's location or search through Photobucket for an appropriate picture.
• You'll want to make sure your colleagues can all vote on their preferred image, so add a 'Vote Button'. You can also use a custom image by selecting 'Vote Image' and then searching through Photobucket or typing in the image's location.
• Once you've finished polishing your survey widget, click on 'Publish'.

Publishing free online poll onto Ning is quick and easy

• Once GlowDay has finished processing your survey widget it will provide you with code to add to your Ning social network.
• Simply copy the code and then paste it into Ning's post editor screen as a new post for your own profile page or as a new widget on your network's home page (to post to the home page you'll need to be an administrator for your group).
• Click on 'Save', and your free online poll will be ready to start taking votes on the best tagline or logo to use in your ad campaign.

Sharing the results of your online poll

• You can check the results of your survey widget at any time simply by logging into your GlowDay profile or by clicking on the 'Survey Results' tab.
• Ning also supports the pasting of code into its comments sections. This means anybody can check the results of your survey at any time and then paste the code provided by GlowDay. This means people in your group who don't have a GlowDay account can still easily share the results of your online poll with the other members of your Ning network.*
